Audrey Kelly writes, "During the Advent season we have many opportunities to welcome people and share the Gospel.  We are looking for people to be part of this Gospel season - currently there are opportunities to serve through stewarding, catering and set up in particular. If you would like to serve in this way, please print off and fill in the form that can be found online, and place it in the box in the foyer, or email the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Christmas giving, 2017

1 November 2017

At home

Castlemilk Community Church logo

This year we would like to partner with Castlemilk Community Church by providing items for their furniture ministry Christmas party hampers.  A party is held each Christmas for the families who have been contacted through the furniture ministry, many of whom are refugees.  The party includes music, games, a meal, presents for adults and children and a mini-hamper of food and fruit. The Christmas story is told, with some drama as well.  The Church would like the families to have a good experience of Christmas and know why it is important to us. Around half of the families they are in contact with are Muslims and, "It is a joy to see them understand that Christmas is special for us. For some families this is their first Christmas ever!"  NMBC can assist by giving small food items for the hampers – mince pies, Christmas sweets, shortbread and savoury snacks.

Please bring your gift on Sunday the 19th or 26th of November, so we can deliver them to Castlemilk in time.  Further details from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Gill Henry and I have recently seen with their own eyes the impact the work is having on families and communities, and how determined the group members are to reach out to others with hope.  Gill and I want to give you a jelly bean calendar.  If you take the gift, they are asking you to eat all of the sweets before the 1st of December 2017.  Then, each day in Advent, pop a coin into the box and bring your calendar back to NMBC on Christmas Eve or Christmas day.  The value of coin you put in is up to you!  Immanuel God is with his people – in Glasgow and Ethiopia.  Calendars will be available on the 19th of November at the fellowship lunch."
