Our service


Our service has been running for five years and we have supported many people in a range of different situations.  The service is confidential and is committed to your best interests; we respect your right to take decisions for yourself.


Counselling enables you to explore your feelings and relationships more effectively by giving you a chance to look at issues in some depth, and gain a more confident perspective for moving forward in your life. It can help by exploring various coping mechanisms which you can learn to apply in your life.


Areas of support


Our counsellors provide support for a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, bereavement, illness/health, self-esteem, confidence, depression, bullying, work-related issues, relationships, and abuse.  This is by no means a complete list and our counsellors can help you through many other situations.  If you feel that you would like to find out more about the counselling service please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What happens next?


One of our counsellors will contact you to arrange to meet with you to discuss your situation and find out more about how the service might help.  This initial discussion will clarify if counselling might help you or if you might be better supported by another agency or group.  If at the end of this meeting you both agree that counselling is the best form of support for you, and you’re able to commit to counselling, you’ll then arrange a future meeting with the counsellor most able to help you.


Your counsellor will always listen carefully to the difficulties you're experiencing and the joint discussions will be about helping you to explore the right solutions for you (it's not about telling you what to do).  The service aims to empower you to find a constructive way forward that is best for you.
